Hero · Accordion (cards)

Photo cards side by side in the page width: the folded ones show their name in a white pill, the open one its text in a light box at its foot. Hovering a strip, or opening its button with the keyboard, opens it. On phones the panels stack, all open.

Preview on the front end. Scripts don't run inside the builder, so here you only see the layout: the panels open with a click here; on the front end they also open on hover. Save and open the page to see the full result.

Structure

This is what the Bricks Structure panel shows after you paste the template. Component instances say which component they are.

The template also pastes a dashed note above the section, with the short version of this page. It only shows inside the builder, never on the published page — see Builder notes.

How to adjust

Every step is the same move: pick the element in the Structure panel, change its Properties.

Where are those panels?

How to adjust a template shows every one of them in a screenshot of the real builder: the Structure and Properties panels, the classes on an element, a component's style families and the field where a CSS variable goes.

  3. Select Panel · Islands, Panel · Valleys, Panel · Coast (+1 more) (FBK Panel) › Properties: Name, Number, Photo, Alt text · More group: Photo loading, Name level.

Requirements

  • Code execution. Needs "Execute code" enabled for the role in Bricks → Settings → Custom code, or the JS block shows as plain text instead of running.

What each requirement is, and how to set it up once for the whole site: Requirements.

Finish by hand

  • The accordion is the FBK Panel accordion component and each panel an FBK Panel: photo (at least 1200 px wide; decoration), number and name (written on the folded strip; keep it short) in its properties, and anything you like in its Content slot (here an FBK Intro with an FBK Button). The first panel's title is the page's H1 and its photo loads eager; keep the others H2 and lazy. Duplicate a panel to add one (2 to 8).
  • The accordion's Style property gives the three looks of this hero: Photo (numbers), Photo, names on top (labels) and Photo cards (rounded cards in the page width with the name in a pill; set Text box to Box and swap the section's fbk-section--flush-start and --flush-end for fbk-section--snug). Each is also its own template.
  • Hover effect Zoom (on by default; set it to None for panels that only open): folded photos dim, the open one zooms in and its text rises as it fades in. The buttons' hover is the FBK Button effect Sweep.
  • Speed and lines: --fbk-pacc-speed (0.7s), --fbk-pacc-line (white at 20 %) and --fbk-pacc-line-w on .fbk-pacc. The block Panels (.fbk-heroacc) makes it full bleed.
  • Opening on hover is the script inside the component (it needs Execute code); without it the panels open with a click.

On phones

The template is designed desktop first, the Bricks default, and only changes at the two widths the library uses:

  • 991px and below — .fbk-intro.
  • 767px and below — .fbk-pacc, .fbk-pacc__body, .fbk-pacc__content (+7 more).

Those changes live in Bricks' own breakpoint fields, so you edit them where you always do: pick the breakpoint in the toolbar and the same fields follow.

Careful with the classes shared by the whole library (fbk-section, fbk-intro, the component classes): a change there shows up in every template that uses them.

If your site's breakpoints are set up mobile first, copy the mobile-first variant of the template instead — see Copy and paste.

Accessibility

In this template, keyboard focus is visible on every interactive piece; movement is cut back when the visitor's system asks for less motion; the state screen readers need is already set (aria-hidden).

What is checked on every template, and what depends on your own palette: Accessibility.

Dark mode

With your site in dark mode this section turns dark too — the class fbk-section--auto-dark on the section does it. Remove the class to keep it light.

Its background is a modifier on the section, so you can swap it for any of the ones the template is checked with: fbk-section--soft, fbk-section--light, fbk-section--dark.
