Header · Column menu
Logo, contact and a button on top; below, a strip of equal cells. Hovering the strip (or tabbing into it) drops a dark band and opens every submenu at once, each as a column under its link; the column under the mouse lights up in the brand color. On tablets and phones the menu opens as a side panel and each submenu slides in.

The template also pastes a dashed note above the section, with the short version of this page. It only shows inside the builder, never on the published page — see Builder notes.
How to adjust
Every step is the same move: pick the element in the Structure panel, change its Properties.
How to adjust a template shows every one of them in a screenshot of the real builder: the Structure and Properties panels, the classes on an element, a component's style families and the field where a CSS variable goes.
The classes this element carries, in the Bricks panel.

This template's own component, with its Style group open.
- Paste the template in Bricks first — see Copy and paste.
- Select Header · Column menu (FBK Header) › Properties: Layout group: Layout, Menu panel, Phone menu text size, Position, Mega menu width, Phone submenus · Style group: Link effect, Submenu link effect, Submenu opening, Bar style, Background · Show or hide group: Hide actions.
- Select Button · Start a project (FBK Button) › Properties: Text, Link, Tone, Shadow on hover · Icon group: Icon, Icon position · Style group: Style, Size, Width, Hover effect.
- Select Nav · Menu › the menu items are elements inside it: add, remove or reorder them in the Structure panel.
- Spacing, sizes, color and timing with no property of their own: the CSS variables below.
CSS variables
These are the only values in the template meant to be changed by hand. Copy the block, paste it, edit the numbers.

The Custom CSS field of this template's own element, with one of its variables as a real example.
/* «Nav · Menu» · class .fbk-hdrop */
.fbk-hdrop {
/* Width of each cell of the menu strip */
--fbk-hdrop-cell: 11em;
/* Colors: the strip, the band that drops and its text, the column under the
mouse and its text */
--fbk-hdrop-strip: var(--base-ultra-light);
--fbk-hdrop-band: var(--base-ultra-dark);
--fbk-hdrop-on-band: var(--white);
--fbk-hdrop-accent: var(--primary);
--fbk-hdrop-on-accent: var(--text-on-primary, var(--white));
/* How long the band takes to drop */
--fbk-hdrop-speed: 0.5s;
}
Paste the block in the element's Style → CSS field (the selector is already in it), or set the same variables on the class itself to change every copy at once. The values are your framework's variables, so they follow your site: Choosing a framework.
Finish by hand
- The menu is a Nav-Nested (Nav · Menu, class
.fbk-hdrop) in the Menu slot of FBK Header: each column is a Dropdown with links (Nav · Link …, classfbk-hdrop__link) or anything else (here a note and a link). Add or remove dropdowns and plain links freely: the cells and columns follow (up to ten). - Hover effects (on by default): the band drops and the column under the mouse lights up
(
.fbk-hdrop, Style > CSS: Open and The column under the mouse); links in a column get a soft tint (.fbk-hdrop__link);fbk-btn--sweepon the buttons. - Colors, cell width and speed: variables on
.fbk-hdrop(--fbk-hdrop-cell,--fbk-hdrop-strip,--fbk-hdrop-band,--fbk-hdrop-accent,--fbk-hdrop-speed). - The top row Header · Top row (logo, contact, button) sits in the Top slot of FBK Header; the bar's own logo slot stays empty. Menu panel on tablets and phones and the phone submenus (Slide) are properties of FBK Header.
- The header is the FBK Header component: put your logo, menu and buttons in its slots (Logo, Menu, Actions; a top bar or a row over the bar goes in the Top slot, rows and scripts under it in the Bottom slot). Layout, link effect, submenu effect, menu panel, position (sticky, over the hero), bar style and background are its properties.
- This is a Bricks header template: in your site set where it shows (Template settings > Conditions), or paste its section into your own header template.
On phones
The template is designed desktop first, the Bricks default, and only changes at the two widths the library uses:
- 991px and below —
.fbk-hdrop,.fbk-hdrop__top,.fbk-nav,.fbk-nav__nested. - 767px and below —
.fbk-hdrop__top,.fbk-nav__actions,.fbk-nav__nested,.fbk-section.
Those changes live in Bricks' own breakpoint fields, so you edit them where you always do: pick the breakpoint in the toolbar and the same fields follow.
Careful with the classes shared by the whole library (fbk-section, fbk-intro, the
component classes): a change there shows up in every template that uses them.
If your site's breakpoints are set up mobile first, copy the mobile-first variant of the template instead — see Copy and paste.
Accessibility
In this template, keyboard focus is visible on every interactive piece; movement is cut back when the visitor's system asks for less motion.
What is checked on every template, and what depends on your own palette: Accessibility.
Dark mode
This section stays light whatever your site does: it does not carry the
fbk-section--auto-dark class, which is only added to templates checked on a dark
background.
How the library follows your site's color scheme: Dark mode and preview.
