Elements · Card navigation slider (text right)

A full-width photo with its text on the left, aligned towards the cards and, on the right, a carousel of white cards that drives it: the active card becomes all photo. It plays on its own, with a pause button and a countdown ring by the arrows.

How to adjust

Every step is the same move: pick the element in the Structure panel, change its Properties.

Where are those panels?

How to adjust a template shows every one of them in a screenshot of the real builder: the Structure and Properties panels, the classes on an element, a component's style families and the field where a CSS variable goes.

  1. Paste the template in Bricks first — see Copy and paste.
  2. Select Slide · Intro ×5 (FBK Intro) › Properties: Eyebrow, Hide eyebrow, Title, Title level, Lead, Hide lead · Style group: Eyebrow style, Highlight, Title size, Accent line · Layout group: Alignment, Layout, Background, Spacing · Motion group: Reveal in slider.
  3. Select Slide · Button ×5 (FBK Button) › Properties: Text, Link, Tone, Shadow on hover · Icon group: Icon, Icon position · Style group: Style, Size, Width, Hover effect.
  4. Select Card · Above the lake, Card · The hidden falls, Card · The empty road (+2 more) (FBK Card) › Properties: Title, Title level, Text, Hide text · Style group: Highlight, Title size, Look, Tone, Shape, Photo overlay, Padding, Photo hover, Background · Layout group: HTML tag, Layout.
  5. Select Main slider, Cards › Content › Options (loop or fade, autoplay, items per page, gap), Arrows and Pagination; one slide = one child, duplicate it to add more.
  6. Spacing, sizes, color and timing with no property of their own: the CSS variables below.

CSS variables

These are the only values in the template meant to be changed by hand. Copy the block, paste it, edit the numbers.

/* «Slider + cards» · class .fbk-cardnav */
.fbk-cardnav {
/* Height of the section's photo, height of the cards, and the dark layer
over the photo */
--fbk-t-height: clamp(36em, 48vw, 44em);
--fbk-t-card-h: clamp(17em, 22vw, 20em);
--fbk-t-shade: color-mix(in srgb, var(--base-ultra-dark) 65%, transparent);
--fbk-t-edge: var(--space-xl);
--fbk-reveal-accent: var(--primary-light);
--fbk-slider-track: var(--white);
/* Layout (changes below 767 px): the cards on the right half, at the bottom */
--fbk-t-nav-pos: absolute;
--fbk-t-nav-w: calc(50% - var(--space-l));
--fbk-t-text-w: 50%;
--fbk-cn-slide-end: var(--space-xl);
/* the text at the bottom, level with the foot of the cards (phones:
centered) */
--fbk-cn-justify: flex-end;
}

Paste the block in the element's Style → CSS field (the selector is already in it), or set the same variables on the class itself to change every copy at once. The values are your framework's variables, so they follow your site: Choosing a framework.

Requirements

  • Code execution. Needs "Execute code" enabled for the role in Bricks → Settings → Custom code, or the JS block shows as plain text instead of running.

What each requirement is, and how to set it up once for the whole site: Requirements.

Finish by hand

  • Replace the photos twice: once in the main slider (decorative, alt empty) and once in the cards (alt = the card title). Keep one card per slide, in the same order.
  • Photo height: --fbk-t-height; card height: --fbk-t-card-h (both on the main block). Card titles and texts show two lines each. Time per slide: "interval" in the main slider options.
  • The card styles in the carousel are in the Custom CSS of the card slide class .fbk-cardnav__item (Style > CSS): %root%.splide__slide.is-active is the active card (photo only, white frame), %root%.splide__slide.is-prev the one before it (faded out) and %root%.splide__slide:focus-visible the keyboard focus.
  • The cards, autoplay ring and pause need "Execute code" enabled for the role; without it, both sliders still work on their own.

On phones

The template is designed desktop first, the Bricks default, and only changes at the two widths the library uses:

  • 991px and below — .fbk-intro.
  • 767px and below — .fbk-cardnav, .fbk-cardnav--end, .fbk-cardnav__slide, .fbk-section.

Those changes live in Bricks' own breakpoint fields, so you edit them where you always do: pick the breakpoint in the toolbar and the same fields follow.

Careful with the classes shared by the whole library (fbk-section, fbk-intro, the component classes): a change there shows up in every template that uses them.

If your site's breakpoints are set up mobile first, copy the mobile-first variant of the template instead — see Copy and paste.

Accessibility

In this template, keyboard focus is visible on every interactive piece; movement is cut back when the visitor's system asks for less motion; the state screen readers need is already set (aria-hidden, aria-label).

What is checked on every template, and what depends on your own palette: Accessibility.

Dark mode

With your site in dark mode this section turns dark too — the class fbk-section--auto-dark on the section does it. Remove the class to keep it light.

Its background is a modifier on the section, so you can swap it for any of the ones the template is checked with: fbk-section--soft, fbk-section--dark.
